Stamp-peding My Way Through Life

MFT Super Star Card Contest

Robin TharaldsonComment

In case you missed it MFT is having a Super Star Card Contest with a GREAT prize package! When I saw the post for MFT's contest I thought this is just the inspiration for me to get designing again!

My first card uses MFT's Fall Foliage stamp and die set.  I added a sheet from the Tribal Prints paper pack onto an A2 top fold card base. I then added the Die-namics Striped Sentiment Strip Cover Up to my card front by applying glue to the edges of the die cut only. To add more dimension I like to stamp images onto patterned paper, in this case the same paper as my background. The foliage was stamped using MFT's Premium Dye Ink Cubes that I received in the Flashy Florals Card Kit. Love those colors, so Fall!

Thankful 1.jpg

The foliage was cut out with the coordinating die set and tucked into the background die cut. I added liquid pearls to the berry branches and a simple twine bow.

The "thankful" die is from the Fresh Cut Flowers card kit and was cut from a sheet of Copper Sparkle Card Stock. For dimension the word was adhered to another die cut and then added to the card front. The simple sentiment is from the Thankful Thoughts stamp set and was embossed using copper embossing powder. I finished the card with a few sequins.

I cut the background for my next card from MFT's Off the Grid paper pack using the large background die from Die-namics Blueprints 27.  The background was added to my card base with foam tape.

I "made" my cake using Die-namics Stitched Mini Scallop Squares and Die-namics Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangles. The layers were cut from a pearlized card stock and I added silver liquid pearls to each scallop using a small stylus. With these two die sets you can make stacked cakes ANY size you need!!  I wrapped silver thread around the cake layer and added a simple bow.

Happy Anniversary, from the Essential Sentiments stamp set, was stamped onto Translucent Vellum using VersaMark ink and silver embossing powder. The little silver hearts were left over from another project and were cut from Die-namics Blueprints 11. I added the sentiment strip to the card front with a spot of glue behind each heart!!  A sprinkle of dew drops finished the card.

My last card features the LJD Birthday Greetings stamp set. I covered an A2 card base with paper from the Sensational Stitched Flowers card kit! Love the kraft backgrounds in the pack!

The banners were cut out using the Die-namics Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Banner STAX. The large brown banner was stamped using Arrow Ends Background Builder stamp and Black Licorice Hybrid Ink . My leaves were made using Die-namics Layered Leaves. The solid leaf was cut from a Cherry Adhesive-Backed Sheet and then colored using Distress Inks. The outline of the leaves were cut from a copper card stock.

Both sentiments were stamped with MFT Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink and then the banners were added to the card front along with the leaves.

To finish the card a copper strip cut from Die-namics Blueprints 15 and two copper buttons were added. This makes a great masculine birthday card!

I'm Back!

Robin TharaldsonComment

After a few months off from posting and paper crafting I'm finally back! What have I been up to? Well, I did a lot of canning from the over abundant crop of tomatoes and figs this year. I think the VERY hot weather here in So Cal is just what the tomatoes and figs needed. What did I do with all the bounty??? I made sauce and jam and then I canned all of it!! My canner was going full tilt for a few days.!

I tried a new recipe for my figs this year, Fig Jam with Orange Zest! A total "YUM" in my mouth! The recipe is from Preserving Italy by Domenica Marchetti. I know, I know you and I don''t need another preserving book BUT I love this book, great recipes; plus I took six books to the second hand store. I'm totally my mind, lol.

The tomato sauce recipe came from the book Food in Jars by Marisa McClellan!  Another great book that I have had on the shelf for awhile; plus it is for small batch preserving.

Even with all the canning I still had time to be in my craft room; it really needed cleaning and organizing!

Dies R Us Birthday Challenge

Robin Tharaldson1 Comment

Did you know DRU has two challenges every month? That's two chances to win an egift card to the DRU shop! What are you waiting for???? I'm the guest designer for May and here are my designs for the Birthday Challenge!

My first card is a CAS design using Lawn Fawn, Cheery Lynn, Memory Box and Penny Black dies! I started with a basket weave embossed panel that I made using a We R Memory Keepers embossing folder. The tag is cut using Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner Dies; I attched brads to the top and the tag was added to my card with foam tape. Other Lawn Fawn dies used are Happy Birthday Borders DieLouie's 123s Dies and Louie's ABCs Dies.

I cut the "to you" off the Birthday Border Strip and added it to the top edge of a Memory Box Grosgrain Ribbons die cut, LOVE the detail in the die! The strip was added with foam tape. The 2 and U were cut three times each, glued together to create some dimension and added to the card base.

For the top of the tag I made a Sunflower using Cheery Lynn - Sunflower die, added it to my tag along with Penny Black - Leaves.

Have you noticed I love designing with Sue Wilson dies? It just so happens DRU carries a huge selection of Sue Wilson Dies

This birthday card was made for my cousin, Chris, and has made it's way safely to Northern California. Yes, dimensional cards take more packaging and MORE postage but I'm not sending cards like this everyday!!! Plus, Chris is my favorite cousin, ssshhh don't tell the others!

This card is A7 (5" x 7") in size. I adhered a panel onto the front of my card base and then cut a frame using Sue Wilson Scandinavian Collection Background die. I added the background panel to the card front using spray adhesive.

Using the large die, from Spellbinders Savoy Decorative Elements, I cut a frame, left the paper in the die and sponged with Distress Victorian Velvet. The frame was added to the card with foam tape. My sentiment tag was made using Sue Wilson Frames & Tags Zoe and a Waltzingmouse stamp. The tag was added to the card with foam tape.

The floral embellishments were made using Sue Wilson Perfect Peony CompleteLaurel Leaves and Olive Branch die sets. The center of the flowers are Art Glitter Gala Glitz Pink.

Dies R Us...Happy Anniversary!

Robin Tharaldson4 Comments

It's hard to believe Dies R Us is celebrating their 2nd Anniversary!!! I was on the DRU original design team when they started 2 years ago and was so excited when I was asked to guest design for their anniversary. I have always enjoyed designing with dies and at Dies R Us the selection is almost endless! They really are my go to shop for dies!

My 25th Anniversary card was made using several of Sue Wilson Designs dies! The background is Sue Wilson's Austrian Collection Background and was cut from a matte silver cardstock.

The flowers were made using Sue Wilson Designs Delicate Daisy Complete and Delicate Daisy Open.  The leaves are also from Sue Wilson Design, Orange Blossom Leaves. The daisies and leaves were cut from a pearl white cardstock and then embossed to bring out the texture pattern in the dies.

By using the complete and open sets together you are able to create many different looks for your daisies; the combinations are limitless!

The pretty banner, also cut from the pearl cardstock, is one of the Horizon Fishtail Banners from Cheery Lynn. This set of banners includes three sizes and have many uses! The numbers are from Spellbinders Victorian Numbers set.

I added the three loop silk ribbon bow to my card with hot glue, added the banner and then arranged my leaves and flowers.

Happy Heartfelt Wednesday everyone! Sadly, today is my last post as a Heartfelt Creations Design Team member, it's been a wonderful 18 months and I will miss that excitement of opening the box when the new release comes to the house. Be sure to check out the newest members of Heartfelt's Design Team, starting next month; I''m sure they will have fresh, new and inspiring ideas for you!  For my last project I thought I would create a card using the first collection I used as a DT member, the Classic Sunflower Collection!

The Classic Sunflower and Botanical Rose stamp and die combos have always been my "go to" favorites from Heartfelt, there are just so many ways to use these flowers! And the sunflower is one of my regulars in the garden, I plant them every Spring.

I love the details in Heartfelt's rubber stamps, just look at the petals and leaves! The Classic Sunflower paper collection includes many patterns and preprinted panels and tags.

Complete instruction for my card are available for you on the Heartfelt Creations Blog

Thanks for stopping by, I hope my designs have inspired you! Check back often to see what I'm up to!!!

Heartfelt Friend Gift Tag

Robin Tharaldson1 Comment

Happy Heartfelt Wednesday everyone! My project for today is a gift tag using the 'Berry Cafe Collection' from Heartfelt Creations!

The Berry Cafe paper collection features pre-printed or stamped images with dies to match! For this tag I used the pre-printed images and embellished with glitter and Diamond Glaze!

The bee has it's own die so you can add it easily to your projects.

I created my own sentiment tag by cutting down one of the pre-printed panels! The berries are making me hungry, time to go!

Be sure to stop by the Heartfelt Blog for more ideas and tutorials on the 'Berry Cafe' release!
