Many years ago (OMG like 20) I walked into a stamp shop, named Stamp Fever, near my home. I was hooked! They were so beautiful, the images, so many possibilities, I purchased several, stamped with them, tried to color them, BUT...was never satisfied with the results.
I moved on to quilting, designed my own patterns, taught, entered challenges, joined a quilt guild, became president of the guild BUT.....moved on. I became a personal trainer, competed in figure competitions, it consumed my life and time, lots of time, lots of cardio BUT...I needed to create. Family and life took over, still a personal trainer, started baking, joined several food blogs, baked, baked and baked a lot more, baked for friends, baked for friends of friends, instant gratification BUT... moved on.
My DH's niece was graduating from college and on a whim I decided to make a card for her. Stamp Fever was long gone, I knew my local hobby shop, Ultimate Hobbies, had a stamp section so off I went. I picked out some paper, a stamp, some ribbon BUT...had no clue. As I was checking out, June the person who runs the stamp area, was demo-ing a Big Shot. OK, what was this new gotta have, will probably never use machine, did I really need it? There is a difference between need and want. I still have a Martha Stewart Cricut thing, in the box, in the SHIPPING box! But, I digress, I was amazed AND hooked, ordered one, bought a few dies for Halloween (my favorite holiday), and made some fun treat holders along with the perfect card for my DH's niece. Now, totally hooked, I looked for more stamp shops and found.....ta da....Stamp Fever, they had moved and not far from my home.
I am now enjoying the instant gratification of completing a card in a short period of time; not to mention how much family and friends enjoy receiving them. They are always wondering what I will come up with next.
